All I Ask of You (The Phantom of the Opera)
ALL I ASK OF YOU
(lyrics by Charles Hart, Richard Stilgoe; music by Andrew Lloyd Webber)
Raoul
No more talk of darkness,
forget these wide-eyed fears;
I’m here, nothing can harm you,
my words will warm and calm you.
Let me be your freedom,
let daylight dry your tears;
I’m here, with you, beside you,
to guard you and to guide you.
Christine
Say you’ll love me ev’ry waking moment;
turn my head with talk of summertime.
Say you need me with you now and always;
promise me that all you say is true,
that’s all I ask of you.
Raoul
Let me be your shelter,
let me be your light;
you’re safe, no one will find you,
your fears are far behind you.
Christine
All I want is freedom,
a world with no more night;
and you, always beside me,
to hold me and to hide me.
Raoul
Then say you’ll share with me one love, one lifetime;
let me lead you from you solitude.
Say you need me with you, here beside you,
anywhere you go, let me go too,
that’s all I ask of you.
Christine
Say you’ll share with me one love, one lifetime.
Say the word and I will follow you.
Together
Share each day with me, each night, each morning.
Christine
Say you love me…
Raoul
You know I do.
Together
Love me, that’s all I ask of you.
Anywhere you go let me go too
Love me…
that’s all I ask of you.

Knocked Up (2007)
The truth is, I only watched Knocked Up because I really admire Katherine Heigl. She is such a wonderful actress. There’s always so much passion in her acting and that makes the characters she portrays so much more believable.
I didn’t really like the characters in the movie though. It’s either because of bad character development or maybe because they’re so close to real life. They’re not the type of characters you fall in love with because you see them more at their worst than at their best.
The storyline is a bit too good to be true. I mean who gets drunk, has a one-night stand with some random guy, gets pregnant and ends up falling for the guy who knocked her up?
But I enjoyed the movie because it made me think about how we never realize certain things when we’re the ones involved in a crisis. I guess that’s why it seems so easy to solve other people’s problems but never your own. Like when Ben and Alison fought..to me, it really wasn’t so bad. It seemed like such a petty thing..something that they could and should work out. And with Pete and Debbie… They had the oh-so-perfect life. Debbie thought Pete was cheating on her when he wasn’t. He just needed space. Their problem: They’re so in love that they don’t know what to do with themselves. Pete wonders how Debbie could like him..love him..? We all wonder that sometimes, right? How can someone love us when we have so many faults? Then you remember that there are people like Alison who believe that love is about seeing, knowing the other people’s faults but loving them anyway. But what about those people who aren’t like Ali? People like Debbie who believe that you should browbeat the other person into changing because she thinks that it will be for their own good and that they’d thank her in the long run?
